Tungsten Carbide Wire Drawing Die’s Annealing

Tungsten carbide wire drawing dies and annealing process consists of the two main steps. Firstly, steel annealing, in which steel is heated to and maintained at the required temperature, for a certain period of time, and slowly cooled down (generally with the furnace cooling). Secondly, die drawing (in the annealing process) , which is usually through electrical contact; electrodes transfer electric current on a copper wire; in order to extract copper wire, preheating and heating takes place. Preheating is usually up to 250 C degrees, because higher temperature will enable oxidation. Heating stage is around 500-550C degrees, which leads to recrystallization. Heating stage has steam protection; it prevents copper wire from oxidation, and after water-cooling stage, the annealing (softening) process is finished.
