Cemented Carbide Button Tips

Cemented carbide button tips are used in Coal Cutter Drilling Tools, Mine machinery tools. Cemented carbide button tips are widely applied for Rock tools, mining tools for use in quarrying, Mining, Tunnelling and Construction. Our company produces any standard sizes and other styles are available on customers' requests with higher quality guaranteed by HIP sinter.

Cemented Carbide Mine Tools

Mining machines use cemented carbide mine tools. The button bits slot into the head of the boring machine. The individual carbide tips grate against the rock face and shuck off rock chips. Carbide alloys last longer then steel alloys, are more corrosion resistant and withstand greater amounts of heat. Some mining operations involve spraying water to keep down dust and cool off the drill tips. Steel tips rust fast in this environment, so carbide tips are used when possible.

Cemented carbide turning inserts

Cemented carbide turning inserts are a class of cemented carbide cutters. There are various types of turning inserts manufactured and supplied by Chinatungsten Online.Cemented carbide turning inserts have a lot of applications such as making internal & external turning tools, boring tools, copying turning tools and planing tools;making left & right hand, internal & external end face turning tools with offset shank and so on.
Turning is a metalcutting process used for the generation of cylindrical surfaces. Typically the workpiece is rotated on a spindle and the tool is fed into it radially, axially or both ways simultaneously to give the required surface. The term turning, in the general sense, refers to the generation of any cylindrical surface with a single point tool. More specifically, it is often applied just to the generation of external cylindrical surfaces oriented primarily parallel to the workpiece axis.

Cemented carbide Mechanically Clamped Inserts

Cemented carbide mechanically clamped inserts refer to a mechanical method of positioning, clamping blade. Cemented carbdie mechanically clamped inserts can be used for processing cylindrical clip, face, inner hole, and the advantage of using cemented carbide mechanically clamped inserts is to avoid the defects caused by welding. The insert holders can be used multiple times, and the geometry design is flexible. Centralized sharpening is good for improving insert quality, convenient management, reducing costs and so on.

Cemented Carbide Cutters

With high wear resistance and high strength, cemented carbide is usually be used for cutting tools, which can be applied to cast iron, stainless steel, alloy steel etc.

The quality of a cutting tool can determine whether cuts will be smooth and clean or difficult and sloppy. A metal cutting tool's quality begins with the hardness and durability of its metal. According to the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, "carbide and carbide-coated tools cut about three to five times faster than high-speed steels" and "higher tungsten content increases wear resistance." There are cemented carbide cutters for a wide variety of applications and, once you understand the breadth of their possible uses, you'll be able to choose one for professional, amateur or even industrial projects.

Cemented carbide cutters are known for being sharp and durable. They are wear-resistant, and can be used in a variety of industrial applications where extremely sharp cutting instruments are needed. For example, cemented carbide cutters are well suited to cutting reflective materials for plotting and sign making. Although prone to chipping and breakage, when these pitfalls are avoided with the proper engineering, cemented carbide can sustain significant industrial stresses.

Cemented Carbide Punching Dies

Cemented carbide punching dies are technology-intensive products and essential to the process of stamping production equipment. The stampings quality, production efficiency, and production costs are relative to the mold design and manufacturing. The level of mold design and manufacturing technology is one important indicator to measure a country's level of product manufacturing, to a large extent determine the quality, effectiveness and developmental capabilities of new products.

Carbide are better than any other kind of die steel in hardness and wear resistance. YG grade cemented carbide are used as the material of cemented carbide punching dies.

Cemented carbide punching dies are typically made by tool and die makers and put into production after mounting into a press. The die is a metal block that is used for forming materials like sheet metal and plastic. For the vacuum forming of plastic sheet only a single form is used, typically to form transparent plastic containers (called blister packs) for merchandise. Vacuum forming is considered a simple molding thermoforming process but uses the same principles as die forming. For the forming of sheet metal, such as automobile body parts, two parts may be used, one, called the punch, performs the stretching, bending, and/or blanking operation, while another part, called the die block, securely clamps the workpiece and provides similar, stretching, bending, and/or blanking operation. The workpiece may pass through several stages using different tools or operations to obtain the final form. In the case of an automotive component there will usually be a shearing operation after the main forming is done and then additional crimping or rolling operations to ensure that all sharp edges are hidden and to add rigidity to the panel.

The main components for Die Toolsets are:
Die block - This is the main part that all the other parts are attached to.
Punch plate - This part holds and supports the different punches in place.
Blank punch - This part along with the Blank Die produces the blanked part.
Pierce punch - This part along with the Pierce Die removes parts from the blanked finished part.
Stripper plate - This is used to hold the material down on the Blank/ Pierce Die and strip the material off the punches.
Guide / Back gage / Finger stop - These parts are all used to make sure that the material being worked on always goes in the same position, within the die, as the last one.
Setting (Stop) Block - This part is used to control the depth that the punch goes into the die.
Blanking Dies - See Blanking Punch
Pierce Die - See Pierce Punch.
shank-used to hold in the presses. it should be align and situated at the center of gravity of the plate.

Application of Tungsten Carbide Wear Parts

Tungsten carbide is widely used in industry because of its extraordinary properties. Because of its wear resistance and hardness (9.8 Moe's scale), tungsten carbide is ideally suited for wear parts, other machine parts and dies which are subject to severe service conditions, such as high temperatures, corrosion and abrasion.. In recent years, tungsten carbide has emerged as a superior alternative to steel in many industrial applications.
A large portion of the tungsten volume in cemented carbide is today used in wear part applications, where there is a wide range of products from the very small (such as balls for ball-point pens) to large and heavy products, such as punches, dies or hot rolls for rolling mills in the steel industry.
Most of these tungsten carbide wear parts and the mining tools are made of straight WC-Co hardmetals without any addition of other carbides.
Fine and ultrafine grained WC hardmetals have become more and more important today in the field of wear parts, tools for chipless forming and cutting tools for cast iron, non ferrous alloys and wood.
The first submicron hardmetals were launched on the market in the late 1970s and, since this time, the micro-structures of such hardmetals have become finer and finer. The main interest in hardmetals with such finer grain sizes derives from the understanding that hardness and wear resistance increase with decreasing WC grain size.

Characteristics of tungsten carbide

Tungsten carbide has very high strength for a material so hard and rigid. Its compressive strength is higher than virtually all melted and cast or forged metals and alloys. It has a tensile strength of 100,000-500,000 psi and a Brinell harness of 2570.  It has the highest melting point of any metal. It also has high thermal conductivity with a range of twice that of tool steel and carbon steel. A high resistance to corrosion enables it to be used in extreme conditions in or out doors. It also has a very high modulus of elasticity. Tungsten carbide is the hardest metal known to man. It has a hardness close to diamond.

Tungsten carbide is a type of steel

Tungsten carbide is a type of steel. It is comprised of mainly tungsten carbide and cobalt. The cobalt acts as a binder and improves shock resistance. As the percentage of cobalt in the mix rises, so does the shock resistance. These materials generally start as powders. A small amount of wax is then added to the mix. This holds the materials together so they can be molded. The mix is then placed in a de-waxing furnace overnight. It is removed and takes a more chalk like appearance. (S1, p1) As a result of this, a material is obtained which combines high strength, toughness and high hardness.
